There are few things that will get me out of bed on a Saturday quite like the promise of beautiful cars, a little bit of luxury and an excuse to dress up. So when I found myself at the Kyalami Grand Prix CircuitCar Show this past Saturday, I already knew I was in for a good time.

The atmosphere was buzzing from the moment I arrived. Everywhere I looked there was something competing for my attention - classic cars, supercars, food stalls and plenty of people who clearly knew their way around an engine better than I ever will. I, on the other hand, was perfectly happy admiring the aesthetics.

There was something for everyone, whether you’re a serious petrolhead, a lover of classic cars, someone who appreciates luxury vehicles or simply looking for a fun day out.

What I loved most was that the day didn’t feel like it was exclusively for hardcore car enthusiasts and the circuit itself added an extra layer of excitement. People were taking photos, catching up with friends, checking out the cars, enjoying food and drinks and generally making a day of it. It had that lovely combination of motorsport, lifestyle and entertainment that makes an event feel like an experience rather than simply something you attend.

My biggest takeaway? I may not know much about cars but I certainly know when I see a fine one!
