Growing up in a Jehovah’s Witness household meant I could not really celebrate birthdays so when I was old enough to make my own decisions, I decided that I will enjoy my birthdays to the fullest because I absolutely love birthdays! Celebrating the day Miss Universe blessed you with me? Iconic! I recently celebrated mine and although I was feeling very much under the weather due to a terrible cold, I still made the most of it with great company, gifts and a fun photoshoot. 

As I celebrate another year around the sun, I am so proud of myself - proud of how far I’ve come, the seasons I survived quietly, the dreams I refused to abandon and super proud of the woman who continues to choose herself, even when life doesn’t always go according to plan.

Here’s to the next chapter! May it be delicious, adventurous, abundant, beautifully unexpected and completely mine.
